BROOKINGS, SD – After the stellar opener in Sioux Center last week, the men kept the performances high among stiff competition. 16 top 10 finishes, a 7th place men's team finish overall, and 24 PRs across the men's and women's team showed the Raiders not holding back.
Starting off in the concrete circle, William Minnick, making his first SDSU-hosted meet finals, threw the 35 lb weight 14.74m, 48' 4.5" for a 9th place finish. Heydon Strope debuted in the weight throw and threw 9.00m or 29' 6.5" for his first competion.

Simultaneously, over at the horizontal jump's pit, freshman Liam Raymon and Noah Lopez, both made finals in the triple jump and finished 4th and 6th overall. Raymon leaped 12.17m or 39' 11.25", and Lopez 11.76m or 38' 7". Shortly before, Braden Kalvelage won the long jump, with a leap of 6.88m or 22' 7". Will Bunn, also made his way into finals with a 6.04m jump, 19' 9.75", for an 8th place finish. The meet ended for the jumping events at the high jump pit. Elijah Weaver jumped a PR of 1.95m or 6' 4.75", tying for first place, but ultimately getting second due to missing more jumps earlier in the competition. Freshman Drew Geetings hit a season best by 4cm up to 1.85m or 6'.75" to finish the competition in 6th.

The 60m dash saw Braden Jahn hit another PR, now down to 7.19 seconds to make his first SDSU-hosted finals race and finish 8th place over all. After the 60m dash came the 200m that witnessed 3 Raiders make top-10 finished, with 2 hitting lifetime PRs. Kalvelage finished in 5th place with a new PR of 22.35, Cody Post finishing one place after in 6th, with a season best of 22.45, and Jahn coming in 3 one- hundredths of a second later in 8th place with a PR 200m dash of 22.48.

The distances gradually got longer as the meet continued, but the performances kept pace. The 600m run had Trey Engelmann just barely missing a PR, and finishing 3rd in 1:23.58 with his PR being 1:23.56. Shortly after Tommy Tracy finished 6th in the 1000m run and the lone Raider to contest the race against the NCAA competition.

The final finish came from the 3rd place finish of the 4x400m relay team. Braden Jahn, Cody Post, Azaih Ashley, Trey Engelmann, ran 3:24.18.
