Eight Raider Recruits for the Month of March

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern College athletic communications office announces the signings of eight Raider recruits for the month of March.

Volleyball
Jazlin De Haan (Orange City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her collegiate volleyball career at Northwestern College. recruit_jazlin

De Haan recently completed her freshman season at Wayne State University (Neb.). She played in all 30 of the Wildcats matches and tallied 266 kills with a .964 serving percentage. De Haan had a standout high school career at MOC-Floyd Valley, ending with 1,421 kills, 1,063 digs and second and third team All-State honors.

"Jazlin is a dynamic attacker that has the ability to score points in multiple locations along the net," stated head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. "She had a great freshman season at Wayne State playing in the rugged Northern Sun Conference. She is someone we have wanted in our program for quite a while so we are very excited to welcome her to our team and campus community!"
 
De Haan plans to study Physical Education at Northwestern. She was an Honor Roll student at MOC-Floyd Valley and continued that at Wayne State. De Haan is the daughter of Craig and Sandra.

When asked what drew her to Northwestern De Haan stated, "I wanted to be closer to home and grow in my faith."

Men's Track & Field
Liam Raymon (Hills, Minn.) has signed his letter of intent to continue his track and field career at Northwestern College. recruit_liam_raymon
 
Raymon is an All-Conference performer from Hills-Beaver Creek High School. His personal record in the triple jump is 40-10.75.
 
"Liam is a talented jumper and we are excited to have him competing for our Red Raiders," said head coach Scott Bahrke. "I know he will continue to get stronger and more explosive during his time at Northwestern College."
 
Raymon plans to study Data Science and Statistics at Northwestern. He is the brother of current Northwestern football player, Garrett Raymon, and the son of Jim and Becky Byrne.

"I chose Northwestern because they are one of the few Christian colleges in the area that have the major I am looking for," stated Raymon. "The school also seems to be tight-knit and supportive as a whole."

Men's Soccer
Aidan Anderson (Creston, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Northwestern College. recruit_anderson_aidan

Anderson is a first team All-Conference performer from Creston High School. Anderson tallied nine assists and one goal in his freshman campaign. His junior season saw him net 27 goals and tally five assists. Anderson was named to the All-KMA Land team for his efforts on the pitch.

"Aidan will be a great fit for our program," said head coach Dan Swier. "He is strong and athletic, he knows how to compete and how to score goals. Aidan is a great academic fit as well, joining others on our team who are working toward their nursing degree. We will be following his senior season this spring and look forward to having him here in the fall."
 
Anderson plans to study Nursing at Northwestern. He is a National Honor Society member and a Presidential Award winner. Anderson is the son of Eric and Karen.

"I enjoyed the kindness of the community and its association with religion," stated Anderson. "It has a reputation of being a very good college."

Competitive Dance
Madison Bahr (Glenwood, Iowa) has signed her letter of intent to continue her competitive dance career at Northwestern College. recruit_bahr

Bahr has four years of competitive dance experience at Glenwood High School. She was named a UDA All-American.

"We are excited to have Madison join our team next year," stated head coach Taylor Nygren. "She has been a great asset to her high school team and will make a great team member as she transitions into college."

Bahr plans to study Elementary Education at Northwestern. She is a Presidential Honor Roll member. Bahr is the daughter of Kristina and Brian Fisher.

"I love the environment when I visited and I love the values," stated Bahr about her decision.

Khloe Hester (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) has signed her letter of intent to continue her competitive dance career at Northwestern College. recruit_hester

Hester participated in four years of dance and three years of soccer at Alburnett High School.

"We are excited to have Khloe join our team in the fall," said head coach Taylor Nygren. "She brings great personality and talent, we're delighted to have her dance with us!"
 
Hester plans to study Biology at Northwestern. She is a High Honor student and a member of the National Honor Society. Hester is the daughter of Becky and Aj.
 
"I liked that at Northwestern I will be progressing in both my academics and my faith," stated Hester.
 
Baseball
Colby Naylon (Gretna, Neb.) has signed his letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College. recruit_colby

Naylon has played two seasons of varsity baseball thus far at Gretna High School.

"We are really excited for Colby, his best baseball is ahead of him and he has some really exciting skills," stated head coach Brian Wede. "We're looking forward to getting him on the roster and watching him improve on those skills the next four years."
 
Naylon plans to study Business at Northwestern. He is the son of Lisa and Tim.
 
"I chose Northwestern because the environment and the way everyone down there makes you feel like home," stated Naylon. "Truly the best!"

Men's Basketball

Brady Hermann (Omaha, Neb.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College.

Hermann is part of a back-to-back Class A State Tournament champion teams for Millard North High School. He was also a member of the first ever Millard North team to go undefeated at home, going 13-0. In his most recent season Hermann averaged nine points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal per game. 

"We are very excited Brady is joining us here at Northwestern!" stated head coach Kris Korver. "Brady is a young man with character and a strong work ethic. He loves the game of basketball and wants to improve. He comes from a family that values everything Northwestern has to offer. We look forward to getting Brady on campus!"

Hermann is the son of Marty and Kristin. 

"The people and the campus and having the support of my family," were the reasons that Hermann mentioned for choosing Northwestern. 

Women's Basketball 

Jaylin Gaston (Louisville, Neb.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College. recruit_jaylin

Gaston is a multi-sport athlete from Louisville High School, in addition to four years of basketball Gaston participated in volleyball, cheer, and track. She accumulated 367 points, 328 rebounds, 74 steals, and 32 assists. Gaston was part of a conference championship and district runner-up teams for Louisville girls' basketball. She was also a member of the State Champion team in cheer for tumbling. 

"We are excited to welcome Jaylin to our Red Raider family," said head coach Kristin Rotert. "She will be a great addition to our team and campus."

Gaston plans to study Nursing at Northwestern. She is a member of the National Honor Society and an Academic All-State member for volleyball and basketball. Gaston is the daughter of Aaron and Sheryl. 

"I chose Northwestern because I loved the basketball and nursing programs," stated Gaston. "I enjoyed getting to meet with the coaches and a couple of professors on my visits and getting to see the different opportunities Northwestern has to offer. Finally, I loved the campus ministry program and the different types of worship services that happen throughout the week."
