KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The sixth edition of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) coaches' poll has the Northwestern College women's basketball (21-5, 13-5 GPAC) team tabbed at No. 16, the national office announced this morning.
There is a new number one on the women's side with Southwestern (Fla.) taking over the top spot with a 24-1 record.
Northwestern's offense currently ranks 7
th in the NAIA for field goal percentage (47.2), which also leads the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
Molly Schany is leading the Raiders with 14.9 points per game. The Raiders have four players averaging double digits, Schany (14.9),
Devyn Kemble (11.8),
Jada Cunningham (10.8),
Maddie Jones (10.0).
Morningside is the highest ranked Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) team coming in at No. 9. Dordt enters the top-25 coming in at No. 24 and Dakota Wesleyan is receiving votes (3).
The Raiders have six wins against top-25 teams, including a win against Marian (Ind.) who is currently ranked No. 4.
