Raiders, Chargers Clash in Orange City on Saturday

NWC looks to make it 20-straight wins over Briar Cliff

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The high-powered and No. 4-ranked Northwestern College football team (6-1, 6-1 GPAC) is set to take their six-game winning streak back to Korver Field at De Valois Stadium for the first time since Homecoming Weekend back on October 1 to battle the Briar Cliff Chargers (1-7, 1-6 GPAC).

RAIDERS BACK ON THE HOME TURF
  • The No. 4-ranked Red Raiders return home for the fourth time this season with a 1:00 p.m. clash against the Briar Cliff Chargers.
  • NWC looks to make it 20-straight wins against Briar Cliff in the all-time series.
  • Sitting at 6-1 in GPAC play, the Raiders look to keep pace with No. 17 Midland (6-1) and No. 1 Morningside (7-0).
NWC NOTABLES
  • NWC remains at No. 4 for the fourth-straight week in the NAIA; bringing the streak up to 21 polls.
  • The Raiders are now just one of three NAIA teams to average north of 200 yards in both passing and rushing per game.
  • Northwestern has outscored opponents 299-68 in their first six games; holding opponents to 10 points or less the last six games.
  • Northwestern is 22-3 under Matt McCarty in the month of October and undefeated since 2019 (14-0).  
  • NWC is 59-2 since 2010 when the team rushes for 200+ yards.
  • The Red Raiders hold a +10-turnover margin through seven games, forcing four in the win at Doane.

STOREY CLIMBS CAREER RECEIVING CHARTS
  • With his six receptions, 126 yards and one touchdown catch last week at Doane, Michael Storey continues to climb the record book.
  • He picked up his eighth-career 100-yard receiving game; NWC improves to 6-2 when he goes for 100+ yards.
  • He passed Chad Netten for third all-time in program history for receiving yards (2,640 yards).
  • He sits seven touchdown grabs and 16 receptions behind Cade Moser for second in program history in both categories.
RECAPPING DOANE
  • Northwestern dominated Doane in a 59-10 rout, picking up their fifth 500+ yard game of the season.
  • Freshman Ben Egli made his first-career start and recorded his first-career interceptions (2).
LAST MEETING VS. BRIAR CLIFF
  • NWC dominated Briar Cliff 63-7 last season in Sioux City.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Raiders lead the all-time series over Briar Cliff with a perfect record of 19-0.
