Football Climbs in Newest National Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwestern moved up one spot in the second NAIA National Selection Committee (NSC) football poll, the national office announced today.

With one game remaining on its regular season schedule, Northwestern enters the bye week on a six-game winning streak following a 38-3 win at Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday. The defense has held firm, only allowing 30 points over the last four games. Northwestern currently ranks sixth in the country in total offense (4,295 yards), led by Colby Duncan, who is second in the GPAC in passing yards (2,542) and rushing yards (776). After the bye, the Red Raiders will end the regular season at home on November 14 against No. 11 Dordt.

St. Thomas (Fla.) led the poll as one of two unbeaten teams in the nation, followed by College of Idaho, Benedictine (Kan.), Morningside, and Montana Tech in the top five.

The NSC consists of a representative of the area ranking committees (ARC), the football NAC sport liaison, a coaches association officer or past president, and three at-large members.

The full results of the NAIA NSC Poll are linked at the top of the story.
