SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- History was made again today at the Dordt Indoor Invite as the Red Raider men's track and field team put on an excellent performance across the board. Twenty-seven men posted top-five finishes in multiple events. There was also an outstanding first-place team performance in the 4x400m relay that beat out a competitive Dordt squad by just over a second with a time of 3:27.51. Thirteen personal records were set in Sioux Center.

Lorenzo Jones (So., Orlando, Fla./Gannon University) set a new Northwestern school record of 14.50m in the triple jump. Jones' jump narrowly topped the former record-holder of teammate James Gilbert (Jr., Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) who posted a jump of 14.46m just last season. Both Jones and Gilbert had exceptional performances today on the campus of Dordt University. Jones' not only set a career-best in his triple jump, but also his long jump (6.65m).

Gilbert also won the long jump with a leap of 7.26m, which currently sits second in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). 

Gilbert won the long jump, defeating the competition with an impressive distance of 7.36m. His teammates were close behind as Jones, Isaiah Robinson (Fr., Garretson, S.D./Lincoln), and Dexter Wiese (So., Orange City, Iowa/MOC-Floyd Valley) helped the Raiders to post a first through fourth route on the leader board.

Sophomore Ben Thelander (Lawton, Iowa/Lawton-Bronson) soared to victory in the pole vault today reaching a height of 3.00m.
