ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- Northwestern College and Vice President for Athletics
Dr. Micah Parker announces the launch of the Raider Athletic Association (RAA). The RAA serves as the Northwestern athletics department's primary fundraising arm and replaces the Red Raider Club.
Gifts to the RAA benefit the student-athlete experience for all Red Raider athletes. Money raised by the RAA funds capital projects and facility improvements and provides scholarships that support our recruiting efforts in the mission of Raiders Standing Out. Donations to Red Raider athletics plays a vital role in the lives of Northwestern student-athletes and leaves a lasting impact on their lives. With your support, you are helping recruit the best student-athletes and providing our department with the resources to develop those recruits into champions.
"Raider athletics is excited to launch the Raider Athletic Association. Joining the RAA means you are on 'the team behind the team' and will play a significant role in our success," notes Dr. Parker. "The support we receive financially helps us compete for championships and provide our 500 plus student athletes with a great experience."
"The Raider Athletic Advancement Board was launched in the spring of 2021. Currently we have 31 members on the board who are listed on the raider athletic web-site and in athletic game programs. Members commit to annually support the Raider Athletic Association at the Captain's level plus supporting another athletic projects," said Dr. Parker. "This is an advisory board made up of people who love the Christian mission of our athletic department and want to be a part of future planning for athletic initiatives. We meet 3-4 times per year to get updates on athletic projects and needs in addition to hearing from a head coach and student athlete. Funds raised have helped us complete the
Bultman Center phase one project this fall in addition to providing wish list items for specific program needs."
