| By:
Maren Nerem (Edgerton, Minn.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College.

2021-22 Maren Nerem recruitNerem is a 6'0" forward who enjoyed a standout, four-year career playing for Southwest Minnesota Christian. Nerem averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game in earning both all-state and all-conference recognition last season. For her career, Nerem scored 1,219 points and grabbed 973 rebounds while being named all-state two years and all-conference for three seasons. Nerem was selected to play in the Minnesota High School All-Star game and is a two-time all-conference pick in volleyball.

"We are extremely excited to have Maren joining the women's basketball program at Northwestern," said former Northwestern Head Coach Chris Yaw. "She is an outstanding young lady with high character who will influence many others on our campus.  Maren is talented student athlete who has had a tremendous impact on basketball, volleyball and softball teams at her high school. She is a strong, talented basketball player with a fierce competitive spirit and is able to score the ball around the basket as well as step out and make perimeter shots.  We look forward to witnessing all the ways that God has planned for Maren to impact and be impacted as a Raider."

Nerem is an academic all-state selection and has been a member of the honor roll every semester in high school. She plans to study Nursing at Northwestern and is the daughter of Joel and Denise.

"I chose Northwestern College because of the great team atmosphere and the Christ-centered academics," stated Nerem.
