Brian Vanden Berg and
Bradley Bourland won their respective singles matches but Northwestern came up short in the team score (5-2) to Morningside in the final conference match for the Raiders.
Northwestern is now 1-5 in the conference, 5-9 overall.
Vanden Berg won his third straight singles match as he downed the Mustangs' top player, Jaime Maza Martin, in straight sets. Vanden Berg evened his conference record to 3-3, 6-7 overall. Bourland defeated Jory Opp in his match at No.3 singles, also moving to 3-3 in the GPAC, 6-7 overall.
Vanden Berg teamed with
Peyton Scott for a 7-6, tie-break win in the top doubles match.
