The Northwestern College men's tennis team dropped a close match to Hastings, 4-3, in conference action played today in Hastings, Neb. The Raiders move to 0-2 in the GPAC, 4-6 overall.

Northwestern won three of the six matches in singles play, led by Bradley Bourland who earned a three-set, tie-break win over Hunter Royal in the No.3 slot. Jack Rosium and Noah Rosium picked up straight set wins at No.5 and No.6 singles and also won their No.3 doubles match, improving to 5-2 this season.

    "This was a difficult match for a couple of reasons...we didn't have our #2 and #6 singles players and we were playing back to back days, both of which affected the outcome I believe," commented Head Coach Monte Tilgner. "I am hoping we get a second chance at them at full strength in the conference tournament. Jack and Noah Roisum continued their solid play in the #3 singles spot winning 6-2. Nic VanRijs played well in his match losing the first set in a tiebreaker and the second set 3-6. Jack and Noah Roisum played very well in their singles match and Bradley Bourland rounded out the day winning a spirited match 10-6 in a super tiebreaker."
