Colton Schuchart (
Jourdanton, Texas) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College.
Schuchart has excelled in multiple sports competing for Jourdanton High School. A four-year letter winner in baseball, Schuchart hit .810 and posted an ERA of 0.00 last season. He received first team all-league honors and was named the team's most valuable player. For his career, Schuchart hit .527 and possesses a 2.43 earned run average.
"We are really fired up to add Colton to the team," said Northwestern Head Coach
Brian Wede. "He is a very athletic, left-handed pitcher who has dominated at the high school level, picking up nearly 1.5 strikeouts per inning since his freshman season. Schuchart also can play a position and has hit over .300 in his high school career. He comes from a great family and will fit in well with both our Northwestern community and our team."
Also a standout in golf, football and track where he earned all-district / all-state honors, Schuchart plans to study Business at Northwestern. He is the son of Kim and Tony.
"Northwestern College made me feel like I was at home," stated Schuchart. "I feel like Northwestern is the best fit and gives me the opportunity to compete in a sport that I love at the college level."
