Anderson To Play Basketball at Northwestern

| By:
Hali Anderson (St. Ansgar, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College in the fall.

2020-21 Anderson Recruit wbasketballAnderson is a multi-sports standout who is in her fourth year playing for the St. Ansgar High School basketball team. Anderson is currently averaging 14 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 steals and 4.6 rebounds in leading her team to a top five ranking and 14-1 record. Last year, Anderson led her team to the 1A state semifinals, finishing with a 22-3 record, and earned both second team all-state and state tournament all-tournament honors.

"Hali is a great young lady who possesses outstanding work ethic," commented Northwestern head coach Chris Yaw. "We are excited that she will be joining our Raider women's basketball program and our campus community. Hali has had great success as a high school basketball player and athlete. A big part of that success is a high competitive motor. Offensively, she generates points through her own scoring and through being a good passer of the basketball. We look forward to following her continued success this year and to her impact as a Red Raider."

Anderson has scored over 1,000 career points and holds several school records, including career assists and steals, season assists and steals and single game assists and steals. Also a letter winner in softball, track and volleyball, Anderson is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to study Exercise Science at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Jeff and Dawn.

"I chose Northwestern because it felt like a home away from home," said Anderson. "I believe Northwestern will bring opportunities for me to grow in my faith, in academics and in athletics."
