Colby Shelton (
Clive, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College next fall.

Shelton is a 6'2" catcher who has played four years for Des Moines Christian High School heading into his final season this summer. Shelton earned first team all-state honors after ranking in the top 10 in the West Central Conference in batting average (.392), hits (29) and RBI (18) last summer. He helped lead the Lions to a class 2A state runner-up finish and 17-7 record. Shelton was named both all-conference and all-district and is a member of the National Honor Society. He is the son of Doug and Brenda.
"Colby is an exciting player to add to our roster," commented Northwestern head coach
Brian Wede. "He was a first team all-state selection and helped lead his team to the state championship game. Colby is a great fit at Northwestern and has the attributes we look for in our program; high character, student, athlete and a great teammate. I am confident that his best baseball is still coming and look forward to coaching him the next four years."
"I chose to come to Northwestern because of the great community, both at the college and especially within the baseball program," said Shelton.
