Tuesday, June 23, 2020

Dexter Wiese (Orange City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football and track and field careers at Northwestern College this fall.

Wiese competed in both football and track and field for MOC-Floyd Valley High School. A three-year letterwinner at tight end and defensive back for the Dutch football team, Wiese posted a team-leading 20 receptions for 262 yards, averaging a team-best 13.1 yards per reception. On defense, he accounted for 23 tackles and one interception, earning all-district recognition.

A three-year participant for the Dutch track and field program, Wiese has a personal best of 20'8".5 in the long jump. He plans to study criminal justice at Northwestern and is the son of Robert and Tricia.

"We are happy that Dexter will join both our track and field and football teams," said Northwestern Track and Field Head Coach Scott Bahrke. "He is an explosive athlete who we feel will excel in the jumps under the direction of Coach Vander Ploeg."
