Another Late Inning Rally Leads To Win

Another day, another Red Raider comeback....Northwestern scored eight runs in the final three innings to come back and defeat Presentation (S.D.) 14-9 in a single game played today in Tucson, Ariz. 

The Red Raiders move to 7-8 on the year; the Saints are now 3-9.

Colton Harold continued to swing a hot bat, going 3/4 with three RBI and three runs scored, including a two-run, two-out home run to began the rally in the seventh. Not to be outdone, Noa Vogel went 4/5 with 2 RBI and run scored, including a pair of doubles. 

Down 8-6, Harold smacked a 2-1 pitch over the fence to tie the score at eight in the seventh. Drew Schutt then doubled and came around to score the go-ahead run on a Kip Cullinan single. 

Now leading by one, Northwestern picked up five insurance runs in the ninth on three hits, three walks and a Saints error. Vogel hit a two-run double while Ryan Reynolds and Zachary Rosson added run-scoring singles.

Reynolds (W) earned the win, limiting Presentation to two hits, one run over the final three innings. Sutton Derr and Alec Rickabaugh combined to blank the Saints for 4.2 innings in relief as well. 

Nine different Red Raider hitters had a least one hit, seven had multiple hits. 

Cole Torgerson (L) took the loss for Presentation, giving up three runs in two inningss, one of four Saints pitchers who could not hold on to an 8-3 lead after two innings.
