Brady Roberts pitched six strong innings and
Kip Cullinan hit a pair of home runs in leading Northwestern to a 14-3 win against Presentation in a game played this morning in Tucson, Ariz.
Northwestern pushed its win streak to a season-best three games and moved its record to 8-8 overall, 5-3 over its spring break trip.
Roberts (W: 2-0) limited the Saints to three hits and three runs while striking out eight in six innings. The sophomore walked three and gave up all three runs in the sixth.
Shane Geurink pitched a perfect seventh, getting all three outs via strikeout.
Red Raider bats continued to feast upon their opponents pitchers, totaling 13 hits and 14 runs. They raced out to a 9-0 lead after two innings and scored at least one run in all but the seventh.
Cullinan led Head Coach
Brian Wede's squad at the plate, going 4/5 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored.
Colton Harold added two hits, as did
Noa Vogel, and
Josh Fakkema smacked a home run.
Presentation's Samuel Garner did not get out of the second inning, giving up eight hits and nine runs in retiring just four Red Raider hitters.
