Men's Soccer Looks To Extend Win Streak

Raiders host Presentation on Friday night

Game Time...The Northwestern College men's soccer team looks to extend its season-long win streak as they host Presentation for a rare Friday night match set to begin around 7:15pm. Northwestern, winner's of its last three matches, is tied with Midland for fifth place in the GPAC with a 5-3 record, 7-3 overall, with three matches left in the regular season. Presentation is winless this season with an 0-5 record.

All-Time... The Raiders are 6-0 all-time in the rivalry against the team from Aberdeen, S.D., dating back to their first match during the 2008 season. Last year, Northwestern earned a 5-0 win against the Saints, getting two goals from Jake Foscalina.

Scouting Reports...

    Presentation Saints:  0-5 (GPAC), 0-5 overall            Head Coach: Terry Kampa (4th year)

The Saints have been outscored 28-3 in losses to Doane, Hastings, Dordt, Briar Cliff and Mount Marty. Owners of an 0-5 record, they lost to Mount Marty last time out, 3-0, in a match played in Yankton, S.D.

Taking over the Saints program in 2017, Kampa is in his fourth year as the head coach and ninth overall season within the program. A four-year starter at Presentation from 2012-15, Kampa was an assistant in 2016. Last year, he led the Saints to a 1-14 overall record, 0-11 in the GPAC, and returns five starters, seven players.

Winners of three straight and five of their last six matches, Northwestern finds itself tied with Midland for fifth place in the current GPAC standings at 5-3. They own the tiebreak against Midland by way of their 2-1 win earlier this season. Northwestern is 7-3 overall and has wins over Midland, Doane and Morningside during its recent streak.
