The Northwestern Overwatch team earned its third win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Eastern Illinois.
The Panthers opened the series by selecting Ilios for map one. The Raiders started off a little shakey, making a few critical errors that provided the Panthers with some potential openings, but the Raiders still managed to clinch the first point: Ilios Well. On the second point of the map, Ilios Lighthouse, the Raiders shook off their stupor and shutout the Panthers in a dominant display, taking the map 2-0.
During map two, King's Row, the Raiders kept their foot on the gas. They completely shut down the Panther's offensive and fully held point A. On their attack, the Raiders quickly secured point A, swiftly securing the map win, and bringing the series to 2-0 in favor of Northwestern.
For map three, the Panthers brought the series to Volskaya Industries. The Raider's defense wasn't as dominant on Volskaya as it had been on King's Row, and the Panthers managed to fully complete their attack, securing both points with two minutes to spare. However, the supposed cracks in the Raiders' play were only temporary. Northwestern responded to the Panther's attack with an explosive offensive of their own, fully completing the map with more than double the Panther's time left over. In the overtime rounds, the Raiders' performance returned to its map two glory, and Northwestern fully held point A. During their overtime attack, the Raiders overwhelmed the Panthers and quickly secured point A, taking the map, and closing out the series 3-0 for a Northwestern victory.
Junior DPS player Hayden Lee was awarded player of the match for his standout performances on Reaper and Symetra across all three maps.
