Game Time...The Northwestern College men's basketball team continues on its road trip this weekend as they play at Hastings in a crucial GPAC match-up for both teams. Tip-off on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Lynn Farrell Arena in Hastings, Neb. is scheduled for 4pm.Â
Northwestern is sixth in the current GPAC standings with a 7-6 record, 15-8 overall; Hastings is in eighth in the GPAC at 6-8, 13-11 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern leads the all-time series 34-23 against Hastings, winning three of the last five meetings. The Red Raiders are 4-6 in their last 10 games vs the Broncos.Â

Jay Small with 28 points while adding a career-best 10 assists for his second double-double of the season. He shot 6-12 from behind the arc and shot 11-16 from the field. Small pulled down five rebounds to add to his big stat day.Â
Craig Sterk helped the cause with a solid 24 points (9-15 FG, 2-5 3pt) and grabbed eight rebounds.Â

The Broncos had their four-game win streak halted by Morningside last time out, losing to the unbeaten Mustangs at home Wednesday night, 81-70. Prior to that setback, Hastings earned wins over Midland, Mount Marty, Dakota Wesleyan and Briar Cliff to climb up to eighth place in the current GPAC standings, one back behind Jamestown. They are 5-3 in the new year.

A late rally fell just short as Northwestern lost to (RV) Concordia last time out, 86-82, in a GPAC game played Wednesday night in Seward, Neb. The Red Raiders were down 20+ points in the second half but cut the lead down to two in the final 30 seconds and had the basketball for a chance to win it down the stretch. The loss dropped Northwestern into sixth place in the current GPAC standings at 7-6, 1/2 game in back of both Dordt and Mount Marty. They are 15-8 overall and are 2-5 since the new year.
Korver is in his 20th season as the Red Raiders head coach and has over 400 wins and 15 winning seasons during his tenure. He has led NWC teams to 13 national tournaments.
