Wiese To Run Cross Country, Track At Northwestern

Katlyn Wiese (Holstein, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her running career at Northwestern College next fall.

2020 cc/track recruit WieseWiese recently completed her fourth and final season running for the Ridge View High School cross-country team. A four-time state qualifier, Wiese finished 18th at the state meet as a senior and 19th as a junior. She won the conference championship last fall and earned all-conference honors all four years. Wiese has a personal best 5K time of 20:09.

A three-year letter winner in track and field heading into her final season this spring, Wiese has personal bests of 5:35 in the 1500m and 12:00 in the 3000m. She is a member of both the honor roll and National Honor Society while also being named to the Academic All-State Cross Country team as a senior. Wiese plans to major in both Accounting and Political Science at Northwestern and is the daughter of Shane and Jan.

"We are thrilled that Katlyn will continue her running career at Northwestern," stated Head Coach Scott Bahrke. "She is a very motivated and driven runner who has experienced great success in high school. Katlyn is an outstanding teammate and encourager who puts her team first. We look forward to watching her grow as a runner, as a teammate and as a student during her time at Northwestern."
