Matthew Onken (
Marshall, Minn.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College next year.
Onken is a 6'6" forward who had an outstanding four-year career playing for the Marshall Tigers. As a senior, Onken averaged 14 points, 5 rebound and 2 assists per contest, while leading the Tigers to a Big South Conference championship.  He received first team all-conference accolades, both as a junior and senior.  Onken also excels in the classroom where he was an honor student for 4 years and earned a spot on the Academic All-State team as a senior. He plans to major in chemistry/physics secondary education at Northwestern College. Onken is the son of Brian and Linda.
