Carter Shields (
Sioux Falls, SD) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College next year.
Shields is a 6'1" guard who had a stellar three-year career at Sioux Falls Washington High School. As a senior, he averaged just over 15 points per contest, to go along with a couple rebounds and an assist for the Warriors. Scoring the ball at an efficient rate, Shields earned himself a spot on the first-team all-metro squad as a senior. He is undecided on what he will major in while at Northwestern College. Shields is the son of Tom and Denise.
"Carter is an excellent scoring guard," commented Northwestern head coach
Kris Korver. "He does many things well on the basketball floor.  He has a great feel for the game, and really knows how to play without the basketball and read screens. Carter is an excellent young man who has a great work ethic, and we look forward to see him continue to grow here at Northwestern."
