The Red Raiders (9-6-1, 6-4 GPAC) fell to Midland University (12-2-1, 9-1 GPAC) 3-0 Saturday.
The Warriors scored early in the 3rd minute off a corner kick. The ball was missed by a few players near post and it skirted by
Liz Foster.
Elena Perez would put home a penalty kick in the 21st minute after
MacKenzie Bammer pulled down a Midland player in the box and it resulted in a straight red card. The Raiders would be forced to play a player down for the rest of the match.
NWC would survive the rest of the first half only being down 2-0.
The second half would start off well for the player-down Raiders but they could not muster enough in the attack to push the Warriors.
Midland would seal the match in the 66th minute when Lauren Stiles would beat the Red Raider back line and slot home the finish.
"It was a tough matchup to begin with and playing a player down made it that much harder," commented head coach
Ben Karnish. "But we played hard and I thought we played well all things considered."
The Raiders head into the last week of the season with a road match at the University of Jamestown Wednesday night.
