The Red Raiders (9-7-1, 6-5 GPAC) fell to the University of Jamestown (11-6, 9-2 GPAC) 1-2 Wednesday night. Despite the loss, the Raiders qualified for the GPAC Tournament.
The Raiders got the lead early off an indirect free kick in the 13th minute.
Julie Dunlap laid the ball back on the free kick and
Nikky Farnsworth put away her 15th goal of the year far post of the swarm of defenders.
The lead wouldn't last long for the Raiders as the Jimmies scored in the 23rd minute. A good combination down the wing and a ball played into the box resulted in a goal by Kamryn Fiscus.
The Raiders would concede the game winner in the 77th minute off a corner kick. Karlie Hintze would rise above the Raider defense and head home the game winner.
"It was a tough loss tonight but we played well," commented head coach
Ben Karnish. "We played hard and had a lot of good things going for us but we have to be better in both boxes going into postseason."
The Raiders finish the regular season Saturday as they host Hastings College.
