Men's Basketball At Viterbo Tuesday Night

Game Time...Northwestern College continues its road trip with three games over the Thanksgiving break, beginning with a Tuesday night match-up against Viterbo. Tip-off in LaCrosse, Wis. is set for 7:30pm. Both teams are 4-3 on the year.

All-Time...Northwestern is 5-0 all-time against the V-Hawks, dating back to the initial meeting in 2000-01. The Red Raiders last played Viterbo in 2016 where they came away with a 76-68 home win.

    Viterbo V-Hawks: 4-3                    Head Coach: Wayne Wagner (20th year)

The V-Hawks lost to Wartburg (NCAA D-III) last time out, 71-54, on the road and snapping a two-game win streak. Prior to last Saturday's loss, Viterbo had defeated East-West University and Cornell. They also have wins over Judson (Ill.) and Clarke. 

Wagner, now in his 20th season, is the longest tenured head coach in program history. He has accumulated 271 wins during his time and has twice been named the conference coach of the year. Wagner returns two starters and five players from a 2017-18 team that tied for sixth out of nine teams in the North Star Athletic Association at 7-9, 16-14 overall. They were picked fourth in the conference preseason poll.

The Red Raiders lost to fourth-ranked Morningside over the weekend,92-72, in a match-up played in Sioux City. They have played four straight road games, going 1-3 so far on the trip. Northwestern has wins over Mount Marty, Valley City State, Mayville State and Oak Hills Christian.
