De Boer To Play Baseball at NWC

Benjamin De Boer (Orange City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern beginning this fall.

DeBoer, the son of Bob and Laura, is a 5-11 infielder from MOC-FV High School. Going into his senior season, DeBoer has been named All-Siouxland Conference three times and has twice earned All-District and All-State honors. During his career DeBoer is a 0.436 hitter with 91 runs scored and 87 RBI in 94 career games. He has picked up 130 hits with 20 doubles and six triples.

DeBoer, a member of the National Honor Society, is currently co-valedictorian at MOC-FV High School. DeBoer has also earned Academic All-District honors. He plans to major in Christian Ministry/Education while at Northwestern.

"Ben is an all around high level young man that we are really excited about," said head coach Brian Wede. "Ben is a high level player but is also an outstanding young man and we are really excited to watch him develop in the next four years. He has been one of the top hitters in the state of Iowa and we look forward to working with him as a Red Raider."
