Northwestern lost to Concordia 7-2 in a GPAC match played this afternoon in Seward, Neb. The Red Raiders end the regular season with a 2-5 league record, 6-8 overall.
Yemisi Ayeni earned the lone victory for the Red Raiders in singles' play, defeating Alison Ebel 6-0, 6-1 at the No.1 spot. Ayeni improved to 11-3 on the season, tied for the 11th most wins in a season in program history.Â
Ayeni and partner Zoe Holscher picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No.1 doubles, defeating Ebel and Katie Hertz. Ayeni and Holscher improve to 8-6 on the year.Â
Both Kendra McGinnis and Emma Van Drie lost in three-set tie-breaks at No.3 and No.5 singles.Â
Northwestern will now wait to see if they qualify for the six-team GPAC postseason tournament that will be held on May 5-6 in Fremont, Neb.
