Northwestern College Athletics

Tyree Cox enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Red Raiders in 2016-17. Cox was a two-time National Qualifier at Northwestern and a First Team All-GPAC wrestler during the two seasons he competed for NWC after transferring from Cerritos College, where he was a two year starter.

Cox has spent time coaching at his former high school, helping five wrestlers earn league champion honors and one C.I.F. placer.

Cox is looking forward to his first season on the mat as a coach. "I hope that the wrestlers will learn about work ethic, both in life and in wrestling, and I hope they learn the value of mental toughness. What I love about Northwestern is that we have a great support system here, from the professors to the athletic department. Everyone wants to see our athletes succeed."
