Maurie Tomke was hired as Northwestern's Director of Tennis Operations in August 2025.
In the newly created role, TomkeĀ oversees the Raiders' tennis programs, teaches in Northwestern's kinesiology department, and assists in the management of the Rowenhorst Student Center.
Tomke brings a variety of experiences from the worlds of coaching, athletic administration, and education. Most recently, he served over seven years at Waldorf University as a department chair and associate professor of sport management and served on faculty and athletic committees. He also holds over 10 years of collegiate coaching experience during his time at Bridgewater State University, Ellsworth Community College, Indian Hills Community College, and Waldorf University.
He is a 2009 graduate of Morningside University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Tomke holds master's degrees from Concordia University - Irvine (Calif.) in coaching & athletic administration and coaching & exercise science, and is currently pursuing an EdD in educational leadershipĀ from University of the Cumberlands. He and his wife, Jessica, along with their three children, reside in Orange City.
