Rick Clark is in his fourth season back on the Red Raiders’ bench and will serve as an assistant coach.

No stranger to the men’s basketball program, Clark was an assistant for 10 years from 1997-2007, serving under both Korver and former head coach Todd Barry, and then returned as a coach last season.

Clark is a Spanish instructor in the modern foreign language department and has twice received the Teaching Excellence Award while at Northwestern.

“I decided to return to coaching because I felt God calling me to invest my time in this manner and because I missed being with the coaches and the family bond that is formed with the players,” said Clark.

Prior to serving at Northwestern, Clark was a long-time teacher and coach at the high school level.

“It is humbling to be a part of challenging young men to use the many skills God has blessed them with to glorify Him in the way they play on the court and how they conduct themselves outside the gym.”

Clark and his wife, Karen, have four kids and eight grandchildren.
