Athletic Brand Identity

Northwestern’s athletic department is responsible for ensuring that the college’s athletic visual identity is clear and consistent. Any publication or media displaying a Northwestern athletic logo intended for an external audience must be approved by Steve Carlson, Director of Athletic Communications. For logo use guidelines or additional logo options, contact Steve Carlson at steven.carlson@nwciowa.edu.

Choose PNG when …

Choose a PNG file if you will be using the logo in Word or on a website page. Its transparent background also makes it a good choice for PowerPoint presentations. Because the resolution of a PNG file is fixed, it can’t be enlarged beyond its original size or it will appear blurry.

Choose EPS when …

EPS files can be resized as large or as small as necessary without losing quality. EPS files are typically not supported outside of professional graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Choose this file type for professionally designed publications and to imprint or engrave the logo on items like T-shirts, pens and mugs.
