Steve Connell joined the Red Raider athletic staff in the fall of 2017 as the director of the Red Raider Athletic Band. Connell served as the director of the Pride of the Dutchmen Marching Band at MOC-Floyd Valley High School in Orange City for 42 years. Under his direction, the award-winning high school band marched in such events as the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, the Fiesta Bowl Parade, the Orange Bowl Parade, the Hollywood Christmas Parade, the Portland Rose Festival and nationally televised NFL Monday Night Football games, helping cement the ensemble as one of the region’s most recognized high school musical organizations.
