Tofteland Leads All NAIA Runners at Augustana Twilight

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sophomore Caleb Tofteland led the Northwestern men's cross country team at the Augustana Twilight, held Friday evening at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls. Friday's race was shortened to a 5K due to heat.

Tofteland was Northwestern's top finisher, placing 15th overall in the 5K race with a time of 15:13.6 to lead all NAIA runners. Freshman Davis Johnson finished second among the Red Raiders and 46th overall, crossing the finish line in 15:44.1 in his first collegiate race.

Carson Van Sickle recorded a time of 16:05.2 to finish 78th overall, while Quinlan Rundquist and Dietrich Dirks rounded out Northwestern's top five, placing 84th and 108^th, respectively.

South Dakota State won the event, scoring 30 points. Isaac Ochoa of South Dakota won the race with a time of 14:14.1.
