Orange City, Iowa — Northwestern swept Waldorf 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-12) on Wednesday at the Bultman Center. The Red Raiders hit .392 for the match, including .571 in a third set that included an 11-0 run.

The Raiders took the first three points and, after the Warriors worked back within 5-3,
Jadyn Hofmeyer's kill started a four-point service stretch by
Maggie Bloom that included consecutive aces and pushed the lead to 10-3. The Warriors scored the next three points out of a timeout to cut the gap to 10-6, but the Raiders steadied the set with kills from
Maddy Sampson, Hofmeyer,
Aubree Shields and
Halie Kapelke while
Nyah Potthoff continued to set the attack. Leading 14-10, the Raiders scored four straight behind Shields kill, a Kapelke kill, a Potthoff ace and an
Aubrey De Groot kill to make it 18-10, then kept control with late kills from De Groot and Hofmeyer before Hofmeyer finished the set at 25-14.

The Red Raiders built an early 5-2 lead behind kills from Shields, Sampson and
Aubrey De Groot, but the Warriors stayed close and cut the margin to 8-7. After the Raiders moved back ahead 11-9, Shields had four kills during a stretch in which the Red Raiders won seven of eight rallies to push the lead to 18-10. The Warriors answered with four straight points to get within 18-14, before a service error, a Hofmeyer kill and back-to-back
Stella Winterfeld aces moved the Raiders ahead 22-14.
Bella Sysa and Sampson added late kills, with Sampson closing the set at 25-17 off an assist from Dora Shukuloska.

After Shields opened the third set with a kill from Potthoff,
Sidney Oostra served the Raiders through the next 10 points, including an ace and kills by
Aubrey De Groot and Shields, to build an 11-0 lead. The Warriors got on the board on a Brylie Deim kill, but the Red Raiders answered by moving ahead 16-1 with a Shields kill, a Potthoff kill, two Warriors attack errors and a
Makenna Lilly kill. The Warriors scored three straight points to get to 16-4 and later added another three-point stretch to make it 20-10, but the Raiders kept trading out of those runs with kills by Hofmeyer, Lilly and Potthoff. Oostra's ace put the Red Raiders at 24-11, and after the Warriors held off one set point, Shields ended the set with a kill for a 25-12 win.
