Cole Honored as GPAC Defensive Player of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern defender Mya Cole has been selected as the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.

"I am very proud of Mya for earning GPAC Defensive Player of the Week," head coach Vitor Pereira said. "She's been a consistent, hardworking presence for us and has set a high standard defensively. This recognition is well deserved."

Cole led the Raiders to a 2-0 weekend, playing every minute for a Raider defense that gave up just one goal. She contributed on the offensive end as well, notching three assists, with one leading to a game-winning goal off a corner kick.

Northwestern will play its home opener on Friday, hosting Viterbo (Wis.) at 5:00 p.m.
