North Newton, Kan. – Northwestern rolled past Bethel (Kan.) with a 7-0 victory on Saturday in North Newton, Kansas. The Raiders scored three times in a four minute span in the first half before adding four more goals in the second half to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Northwestern broke through in the 28th minute when Daniel Lindahl scored off an assist from Juan Miranda. Rasmus Morrison doubled the lead less than three minutes later, and Juan Munoz added a third goal in the 32nd minute off an assist from Bram Zwinkels. The Raiders carried a 3-0 advantage into halftime.
The Raiders continued to control the match after the break. Gerrard Uamai scored in the 54th minute with an assist from goalkeeper Edoardo Alessandrini, before Gonzalo Domingo converted a penalty kick in the 61st minute. Jovany Kabongo added a goal in the 74th minute off an assist from Bau Marques, and Emerson Brazones capped the scoring in the 90th minute with an assist from Kabongo.
Northwestern finished with 16 shots, putting 12 on goal, while Bethel managed just two shots and none on target. Alessandrini played all 90 minutes and recorded the shutout.
