Northwestern Welcomes Narveson as Cross Country and Track and Field Assistant Coach

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College has hired Megan Narveson as an assistant coach for its cross country and track and field programs, head coach Scott Bahrke announced. She will work primarily with the distance runners.

"We are thrilled to have Megan working with the young men and women on our Raider cross country and track teams," Bahrke said. "She is passionate about helping others reach their potential in all that they do. Her kind heart and knowledge of training will help our athletes have an awesome experience at Northwestern."

Narveson joins the Red Raiders after serving as a personal trainer at Higher Power Training in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She designed individualized training programs, provided one-on-one coaching, and led group instruction while building strong relationships that helped clients reach their health and fitness goals.

While at Higher Power Training, Narveson also served as a strength and conditioning coach at Bloomington Jefferson High School, where she developed training programs for student-athletes and collaborated with coaches to foster a safe and competitive environment.

As a student, she completed a two-year internship with the Minnesota State strength and conditioning department and brings more than five years of coaching experience, including work with competitive swimmers.

"I am looking forward to coaching the Raider track and field and cross country teams," Narveson said. "I am excited to see where God takes us this season and how I can help develop the team!"

Narveson earned bachelor's degrees in exercise science and exercise physiology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she later completed a master's degree in exercise physiology. As a Maverick student-athlete, she competed in both cross country and track and field while earning NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence honors multiple times.
