Raiders to Begin Championship Events on Wednesday in North Carolina

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship is set to take place from May 20-22, 2026, at Karl Straus Track in Asheville, North Carolina. Braden Kalvelage will compete in the 100m and long jump, Carson Van Sickle in the 800m, and the men's 4x100m and 4x800m relays will race.

Braden Kalvelage, who is ranked second in the NAIA for the long jump with a mark of 7.69m, will compete in two events throughout the weekend. He is also scheduled to compete in the 100m, where he holds a ranking of 24th in the NAIA with a time of 10.42 seconds.

In addition to Kalvelage's performances, Carson Van Sickle will represent Northwestern in the 800m with a time of 1:51.39, ranking 19th in the NAIA. The team's relay squads have also posted competitive times, with the 4x800m relay of Carson Van Sickle, Dietrich Dirks, Quinlan Rundquist, and Caleb Tofteland ranked 19th and the 4x100m relay of Carter Van Donge, Collin Bliven, Braden Kalvelage, and Mike Rodriguez ranked 20th in the NAIA.

For those unable to attend in person, the NAIA channel of the Urban Edge Network will broadcast the event live and for free, providing fans an opportunity to support Northwestern from home.
