Raiders Qualify Four Individual Events, Three Relays for Outdoor Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released its qualifiers for the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Individually, the Raiders qualified Braden Kalvelage in the 100m and long jump, Carson Van Sickle in the 800m, and Addison Smith in the high jump. Both the men's and women's teams qualified in the 4x400m and 4x800m, adding to the men's 4x100m qualifying team.

Kalvelage posted a 100m time of 10.42 and a long jump mark of 7.69m at the GPAC Championships. Van Sickle qualified with a mark of 1:51.39 at the Sioux City Relays, and Addison Smith hit the high jump auto standard of 1.70m at the Concordia Twilight.

All of Northwestern's relays hit the qualifying mark at last weekend's last chance meets. The men's 4x100m relay of Carter Van Donge, Collin Bliven, Braden Kalvelage, and Mike Rodriguez qualified with a time of 40.86 at the USD Twilight, while the men's 4x800m relay of Carson Van Sickle, Dietrich Dirks, Quinlan Rundquist, and Caleb Tofteland ran a 7:39.17 at the Concordia Twilight. On the women's side, the 4x800m relay of Macy Schroeder, Allie Hough, Emily DeGroot, and Brielle Engelmann qualified with a time of 9:17.76 at the Concordia Twilight. James Heinz, Brady Van Sickle, and Brooklyn Fryar will travel as relay alternates.

Men's 100m (Prelims) – 2:40 p.m.

Friday, May 22
Women's High Jump – 1:00 p.m.
Men's 4x100m (Finals) – 2:05 p.m.
Men's 100m (Finals) – 4:00 p.m.
Men's 800m (Finals) – 4:10 p.m.
Women's 4x800m (Finals) – 5:10 p.m.
Men's 4x800m (Finals) – 5:30 p.m.

The event will be held from May 20-22 at Karl Straus Track in Asheville, North Carolina
