Red Raiders Excel with Multiple Event Wins at Home Meet

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Raider men secured multiple event victories at the Red Raider Open, highlighted by James Heinz winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.90 seconds and Alik McIlravy claiming first in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:04.52.

The Red Raiders showcased strong performances at the Red Raider Open, with several athletes achieving top finishes. Heinz secured first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.90 seconds. In the 1500-meter run, Caleb Tofteland earned a second-place finish, clocking in at 4:07.59, closely followed by Quinlan Rundquist, who placed fourth with a time of 4:09.94. The 4x400-meter relay team, comprising Heinz, Collin Bliven, Aziah Ashley, and Landon Price, captured first place, completing the race in 3:24.17.

McIlravy excelled in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing first with a time of 10:04.52. Kalarga Mukhtar also earned a top spot in the 400-meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 57.79 seconds. Braden Kalvelage dominated the long jump, achieving a first-place distance of 7.10 meters. The Raiders' relay teams were particularly strong, with the 4x800-meter team, consisting of Dietrich Dirks, Rundquist, Tofteland, and Carson Van Sickle, also finishing first with a time of 7:53.86.

Sprints
James Heinz secured first place in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 10.90. Landon Price placed second in the 400 Meter Dash, finishing in 51.31.

Middle Distance
Caleb Tofteland earned second place in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 4:07.59, while Quinlan Rundquist finished fourth at 4:09.94.

Distance
In the 5000 Meter Run, Ben VanDeBerg finished fourth with a time of 16:37.06. Alik McIlravy claimed first place in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, clocking in at 10:04.52.

Hurdles
Kalarga Mukhtar won the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 57.79, and Braylon Van Gelder placed fifth in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 16.61.

Jumps
Braden Kalvelage took first place in the Long Jump with a distance of 7.10m. Drew Geetings finished fifth in the High Jump, achieving a height of J1.86m.

Throws
Drew Geetings placed fifth in the Javelin Throw with a distance of 49.78m. In the Shot Put, Daniel Greenlee finished tenth with a distance of 14.14m.

Relays
The Raiders' A team won the 4x400 Meter Relay with a time of 3:24.17. The A team also claimed victory in the 4x800 Meter Relay, finishing in 7:53.86.
