Raiders Rout Concordia for Seventh GPAC Tournament Title

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern rushed to a commanding 102-72 victory over Concordia on Championship Tuesday at Bultman Center. The Red Raiders were firing on all cylinders, shooting an impressive 60.6% from the field and sinking 16 shots from downtown.

"I'm really proud of our guys' effort," head coach Colton Kooima said. "I thought defensively we were really solid, and I'm proud of how we competed."

Northwestern hit the ground running in the first half, with Manny Hammonds kicking things off with an early jumper. Jesse Van Kalsbeek made his presence felt on defense with a steal and a dunk, giving the Raiders an early boost. Brennan Reid's trey followed by a Langsy jumper put the score at 9-2 with four minutes played.

Midway through the first half, the Red Raiders kept the pressure on with sharp shooting. Jalen Langsy knocked down a jumper and followed it up with a three-pointer. Reid and Van Kalsbeek were relentless, continually adding to the scoreboard. On defense, the Raiders forced several turnovers while finding success from beyond the arc. Isaac Cordes and Langsy each drilled a triple to cap off a 20-0 run and set the score at 47-27 with 3:47 until the break. By halftime, Northwestern enjoyed a hefty 25-point advantage, leading 57-32.

In the second half, the Raiders continued their offensive assault, with Manny Hammonds opening with a quick jumper. Langsy chipped in with multiple buckets, including a triple at the 10:00 mark, keeping the momentum rolling toward a 40-point advantage. The Raiders' defense stifled the Bulldogs, limiting them to just 40 points in the half.

Van Kalsbeek punctuated the game with an electrifying slam as the Raiders clinched the title and a 102-72 victory.

"Our guys played with an edge tonight," Kooima added. "We rebounded, we were physical in guarding the ball and guarding in gaps, and we executed at a high level."
