Raiders Rank at No. 23 at Start of GPAC Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released its second regular season edition of the softball top 25 rankings, and Northwestern is slotted at No. 23.

The Raiders hold a record of 15-8, earning top 25 wins over No. 23 Saint Xavier (Ill.) and No. 20 Indiana Wesleyan this season. Allison Koontz is leading the way in the circle and at the plate, sitting fourth in the GPAC in RBIs (23) and third in wins (7). Also near the top of the GPAC is Ava Gross, who is fourth in the league with a .425 batting average. The Raiders hold the top spot in the conference in walks (104), sacrifice hits (51), and on-base percentage (.422).

The Raiders have been ranked in the top 25 in 20 consecutive polls dating back to March 8, 2023.

Eastern Oregon moved into the No. 1 spot for the first time this season, followed by Oregon Tech, Southern Oregon, Oklahoma City, and Madonna (Mich.) in the top five.
