Raiders Come Up Short on Saturday Night

Northwestern was defeated by St. Katherine 5-2 on Saturday evening. The Red Raiders secured singles victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions but were unable to capture the doubles point.

In singles, the Red Raiders notched their first point with a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles, as Di Martino defeated Simon 6-4, 6-3. Ferreira added a second point for Northwestern with a three-set win over Holmberg at No. 2 singles, finishing 6-4, 2-6, 10-3.

St. Katherine responded strongly in the remaining singles matches. At No. 3 singles, Pelletier defeated Beckloff in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. King claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win over Else at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, Steinhaus secured a 6-0, 6-3 victory against Kolb, while Gravdahl closed the match with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 result over Higginbotham at No. 6 singles.
