Koontz Continues Stellar Season with GPAC Player of the Week Award

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern softball pitcher/utility player Allison Koontz has been selected as this week's GPAC Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.

Koontz led the Raider offense to three wins last weekend, including a win over No. 23 Saint Xavier (Ill.). On the week, Koontz hit .615 with three doubles, a triple, and a home run. She drove in five runs on the weekend and stole a base in addition to going 2-0 in the circle.

Koontz has been one of the top two-way players in the conference, leading the GPAC in wins (7), sitting fourth in ERA (1.49), and 15^th in batting average (.387).

Northwestern will be back at the ASB Dome this weekend for a four-game slate.
