Lights-Out Shooting Carries Raiders Over Warriors

FOREST CITY, Iowa - Northwestern showed off their offensive prowess once again as they shot 55% from the floor and 50% from beyond the arc in a 89-74 win on the road over Waldorf.

Jesse Van Kalsbeek got things rolling with a layup after an assist from Manny Hammonds. The momentum stayed strong with a three-pointer from Jalen Langsy, setting the tone for their explosive start. As the half rolled on, Northwestern widened the gap, thanks to clutch plays from Kaleb Booth and Hammonds nailing shots from beyond the arc. The Raiders tightened up their defense, stifling the Warriors' scoring chances and turning turnovers into points. Van Kalsbeek was a force in the paint, consistently scoring and snagging rebounds. By halftime, Northwestern was comfortably ahead, 48-34.

Kicking off the second half, Northwestern kept the offensive pressure high, stretching their lead to 22 points at one stage. The team displayed great coordination, racking up 12 assists during the half. Van Kalsbeek stood out with a block and several assists. Defensively, the Raiders stood their ground, holding Waldorf to just 20 points in the half. The Warriors tried to close the gap, but the Red Raiders held firm, wrapping up the game with a solid 89–74 finish.

  • Manny Hammonds shot well, going 5/6 from beyond the arc for his 15 points.
