Raiders Turn in Strong Marks in Indoor Regular Season Finale

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Northwestern closed out the regular season with a slew of impressive performances, led by first-place finishes for Braden Kalvelage and the distance medley relay.

Braden Kalvelage led the way with a standout weekend performance. Kalvelage won the 200m Invitational in 21.32, moving to No. 5 in the NAIA and breaking his own school record on the oversized track, also adding a 6.93 effort in the 60 meters. Teammate Grant Palmer placed fourth in the 200m (21.97) and recorded a personal-best 6.95 in the 60m prelims.

In the 200-meter open section, Northwestern placed three inside the top 10 as Connor Slaba (9th, 22.11) and Michael Rodriguez (10th, 22.12) joined Palmer's fourth-place finish.
Rodriguez also delivered a strong performance in the 400 meters, clocking a personal-best 49.40.

The Red Raiders found success in the relays, highlighted by a first-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay. The quartet of Quinlan Rundquist, James Heinz, Carson Van Sickle, and Caleb Tofteland finished in 10:17.40. Northwestern also added a fifth-place finish in the 4x400m relay (3:17.05) and fourth in the 4x800m relay (7:53.47).

In the field events, Drew Geetings cleared 1.85m in the high jump to place 23rd overall in a large field, while Daniel Greenlee recorded a mark of 14.43m in the shot put. In the weight throw, Jacob Folkerts posted a 15.10m effort to lead the Raider throwers.
