Offensive Barrage Helps Northwestern Tame Mustangs

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern dominated No. 21 Morningside with a resounding 109-85 victory on Wednesday at the Bultman Center. The Raiders were on fire from beyond the arc, sinking 21 of their 37 attempts to power their commanding win.

The game kicked off with a trey from Jalen Langsy, assisted by Brennan Reid, setting the early tone. Northwestern capitalized on turnovers right from the start, turning them into points with a layup by Manny Hammonds off the Kaleb Booth feed, followed by a series of triples that forced a Mustangs timeout at 11-0.

On the defensive end, the Raiders were relentless, nabbing five steals and blocking two shots, which fueled their transition game. By keeping their turnovers to just two in the first half, Northwestern showcased their efficiency and extended their lead to 53–35 by halftime, thanks to smooth ball movement and depth in scoring.

In the second half, Northwestern didn't let up, continuing their offensive assault. Jesse Van Kalsbeek was a standout, adding several baskets, including a layup at 17:10 and a two-handed slam at 16:43. Langsy kept the momentum rolling with a three-pointer at 11:53, ensuring the Raiders stayed in control.

The Raiders maintained their edge, with Booth dishing out assists like the one at 10:47 to Kasen Bailey for a shot from downtown, one of the Raiders' 21 threes on the night. Northwestern kept its foot on the gas, sealing the deal with a final score of 109–85.
