De Groot's Defensive Effort Earns GPAC Weekly Recognition

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern senior middle blocker Aubrey De Groot has been named the GPAC Defender of the Week, presented by Hauff/Mid-America Sports.

"We had two great road wins as a team last week and Aubrey did a great job of defending the net for us," head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch said. "This is a well-deserved honor for her."

De Groot was the top blocker for the Raiders last week, putting up seven blocks and four kills in Saturday's win at Mount Marty. She also had four blocks and a kill earlier in the week at Dakota Wesleyan as the Raiders clinched the GPAC regular season title.

Northwestern will close the regular season tonight, playing at Dordt at 7:30 p.m.
