After Briar Cliff (IA) moved ahead 3-2 on consecutive kills by Alexis Even, the Red Raiders answered with five straight points, getting an Aubrey De Groot kill, a Halie Kapelke kill, two Nyah Potthoff service aces and a Stella Winterfeld kill to move in front 7-3. Briar Cliff (IA) worked back within 13-10, but the Raiders scored the next seven points, with Sidney Oostra serving six straight during a stretch that included kills by Potthoff and Winterfeld and three Alexis Even attack errors. The Red Raiders kept control from there, pushing the lead to 23-12 on a Potthoff ace and a Kapelke kill before Aubrey De Groot and Jadyn Hofmeyer delivered late kills to close the set 25-14.

The second set stayed within two points through the opening stretch, with the Raiders answering Briar Cliff (IA) leads behind kills from Winterfeld, Hofmeyer and Aubrey De Groot before Halie Kapelke's attack error put Briar Cliff (IA) in front 12-11. Winterfeld tied the set and Kapelke gave the Red Raiders a 13-12 lead, and after Brooklyn Voss evened it at 13-13, two Briar Cliff (IA) attack errors — one on a block by Kapelke and Maddy Sampson — and a Madi Nemmers ace pushed the Raiders ahead 16-13. Briar Cliff (IA) cut the margin to 17-16, but an opponent service error, a Maggie Bloom ace, a Sampson kill, an Oostra ace and a block by De Groot and Potthoff helped the Red Raiders build a 22-17 lead. After Briar Cliff (IA) got back within 23-21, Winterfeld's kill made it 24-21 and De Groot and Kapelke combined on a block to finish the 25-21 set win.

The Red Raiders built a 9-2 lead to open the third set, getting two kills and a service ace from Winterfeld along with early kills by Sampson, Aubrey De Groot, Potthoff, Kapelke and Hofmeyer.
