Bennett Adds Back-to-Back GPAC Weekly Awards

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern sophomore kicker Gianna Bennett has been named the GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week, presented by Hauff/Mid-America Sports, for the second consecutive week.

"Gianna had another outstanding day kicking for us," head coach Matt McCarty said. "It was fun to see her break the record at home, too. She continues to be consistently excellent for us.

Bennett became college football's all-time leading female scorer, passing the mark on a 34-yard field goal at the end of the first quarter. She went 6-for-6 on PATs to total nine points on the game. Bennett is second in the GPAC in kicking points (54) and tied for the lead in made field goals (7).

Northwestern will look to extend its four-game winning streak this week, facing Waldorf on the road.
